Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday (today), I wanted to share a book that my son and I made together. I used to be a first grade teacher and we made books all the time in my classroom.  It was so much fun and so I decided I would make one with my 2 year old.  Now when I taught first grade, my students wrote the stories,  since my son is two I helped him with the writing.  He picked out the stickers and put them on the pages.  Then I wrote for him!  Here's the book:

Here's a look at the inside:
Every page said "I like" and then the name of of the car.

Except the last page that said:

I have a binding machine and laminator, but if you don't have a binding machine or laminator you could take it to have it laminated and bound at an office supply store.  Another idea for binding it..... you could also just hole punch it and add rings.

I hope that you have a great day today and are able to take a break and read!

  1. This is wonderful Jill! Abi has been "writing books" since she was about that age too - although I'd never even heard of a Bind-It-All at that point, so we just used staples. :) What a super project - I love when people craft with their kiddos. :)

  2. It's just adorable! We celebrated Dr. Suess's Bday today in my 2nd graders class. They all wore Pj's and we read books. GREAT day!
Take care Jill and thank you for sharing that adorable book.

  3. That book belongs on the NYT best seller list! So cute.

  4. Love Dr. Seuss!

Thanks so much for the Liebster award! I have payed the love forward!

  5. Very cute! My son loved trains and hot wheels cars when he was little. :)

These comments make my day! Thank you for taking the time!
