CWC #78 Spring Song Challenge

When thinking of a Spring song I immediately think of... "You are my Sunshine".......my son and I sing this song together all the time.

I created this card for my friend for her birthday! Whenever we hang out it's like a breath of fresh air! She's a sunny delight to be with.  She also has a modern style so I incorporated that into the design by using a transparency sheet as the base of the card.  I used my Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook to cut out the circle. I cut it out at 3".  I used a large scallop punch to punch out of the sun.

I stamped on the inside of the sun scallop:

"You are Awesome"!

For the sun rays, I sliced up bits of paper and then just used my ATG gun to stick them down.

There you have it! That's how I created my card!

Here is the Spring Song I chose...."You are my sunshine"....I never knew anything but the chorus....there's more....ha!   Enjoy!

Jill

  1. Oh Jill! I used to sing this song to my daughter ALL the time! And I so didn't know there was more to the song either...LOL I really am going to "scraplift" your idea of using transparencies....who woulda thunk it?! LOL Your card is beautiful. I like how you cut a scallop out of the sun and then put the sentiment behind it....cute! it surely will bring a smile to your friend's face!

  9. What a fantastic idea. I will have to do this. Great job with the sentiment on the inside of the card. It is like a big surprise because I thought what I frst saw on the front of the card was the sentiment. Super clever!! Great song selection too!!!
