CWC Challenge #77 St. Patrick's Day Theme

What are your plans for St. Patrick's Day? Do you need last minute St. Patrick's Day ideas?  This week at Cooking With Cricut our challenge is a St. Patrick's Day Theme! The Design Team has gone above and beyond!  You can check out their projects here.

I chose to do a St. Patrick's Day treat bag.....

I used the rainbow from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge cut at 3". 

Inside the bag are these yummy thumbprint cookies. 

To make the bag, I used a white lunch bag and cut off the bottom.  I sewed around the entire bag (well except for the top, obviously! ha!). Then I folded over the top and hole punched through so the ribbon could lace through.

Tricky Leprechauns

Did you get "Boo-ed" this Halloween? We did! I'm not sure who did it, but I think I have an idea....so we're leaving this treat for the "Boo-ers" for St. Patrick's Day!

I tasted some of these chocolate balls and they are DELICIOUS! I got them from The Wakarusa Dime Store! They come in all different colors and sizes! These are great little treats for any holiday..birthday...etc....

If you've never downloaded a printable follow these directions.....ENJOY!

You will be brought to Photobucket. You will not see the word "File" but if you take your mouse to the upper left hand corner of the printable, you will see it. Go to File then a drop down menu will pop up and go to download! There you have it! Now you can download and print away! Also, when in doubt, just right click right on the image and click "Save As". Then you can save the printable to your computer.  My printer allows me to print at different sizes like 8X10 and 5X7 along with the quantity to be printed off! Let me know if you have any questions because I was a lost puppy when it came to printables at first!

I heart this face

Here is a close up photo I took of my daughter. She looked so snugly in her car seat and I loved being able to just see her face peeking through the car seat cover.  Her eyes were so big and open, I captured this moment, so I can remember it forever.

Catch a FRUIT Rainbow

Hi, everyone! I posted my first video tutorial yesterday! Yay! So much fun! If you missed it you can check it out here. I hope you are having a SUPER week! If not here's a little jar of fun that you can make to cheer yourself up!

A FRUIT RAINBOW

I originally saw this idea on Bloom, and knew that I must make them for my MOPS girls. I'm a table leader and made the girls at my table a welcome present in September you can check it out here. Ever since the first day I have been making them little bits of fun.  I also made chocolate hearts you can check out here. 

Anywhooo....This jar was DELICIOUS!

Do you say ROY G. BIV to help you remember the colors of the rainbow? I ALWAYS do! So here's my ROY G. BIV recipe:

R- strawberries
O-Mandarin Oranges
Y-Mango
G-Kiwi
B-Blueberries
I&V-Grapes

Cut up the fruit and layer it up!  Enjoy it! Yum Yum!

Here is the topper I used from Bloom!

I just used a big circular squeeze punch I got from JoAnn Fabrics..actually from my awesome in-laws for my bday! I love it and use it all the time!...obviously as displayed here!

So there you have it! A FRUIT RAINBOW in a jar! Yummy!

Door Decor Video Tutorial

I L-O-V-E video tutorials!  I just love watching people make things, so I thought just in case there are other people out there like me, I would make a video tutorial for you! The Baby Shower Wreath, that really isn't a wreath was a big hit, so I thought I would share a video tutorial with you.  I know some of you are SUUU-PER Crafters (cue music now..do, do, do, do), but for those of you who have questions about making wreaths or are just a little unsure about what to do, here is a simple little door decoration for you to watch!

Sundays are Lovely #7

Hi Everyone!  How was your February?  Mine was so much fun! I made so many projects and then I was so lucky and got featured on I Heart Naptime, It's Overflowing, Lil Luna, Decorate to Celebrate,  Paper Issues, My Craft Spot...I'm humbled! I just can't believe it!  Anywhoooo......


The project with the most views was Holly's project! So cute! I l-o-v-e banners and this is a great spin on one! It's so fun! Look at the cool paper she used and the pearl detail! Way to go Holly!




So I decided to keep the link party open for the whole Month again! So, basically, every time you post a project, just come on over and link it up here! Let's see if we can get 31 projects linked up! Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday (today), I wanted to share a book that my son and I made together. I used to be a first grade teacher and we made books all the time in my classroom.  It was so much fun and so I decided I would make one with my 2 year old.  Now when I taught first grade, my students wrote the stories,  since my son is two I helped him with the writing.  He picked out the stickers and put them on the pages.  Then I wrote for him!  Here's the book:

Here's a look at the inside:

Every page said "I like" and then the name of of the car.

Except the last page that said:

I have a binding machine and laminator, but if you don't have a binding machine or laminator you could take it to have it laminated and bound at an office supply store.  Another idea for binding it..... you could also just hole punch it and add rings.

In honor of the Academy Awards tonight I thought I would share with you an award I just recently received.....

I received this award from Heather at The Hunny Pot.  Heather is an AWE-INSPIRING designer, so to get an award from her is like winning an Oscar! (Are you guys watching the Academy Awards, btw's?) The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are unclear but as Heather shared "the word translates from German as "darling" or "beloved". Can't imagine why?..Well...it's the same as mine..ha!) No but seriously, her projects are simply fabulous! Go visit her and tell her I said, "HI"!

Rumor has it.....

I just wanted to share some "Blogland" info that I've acquired over the past little while.

1. Google Friend Connect will no longer be available to dot coms and will be phased out pretty soon for blogger as well. What? I know, right?!  So, I joined Linky Followers, which is on my sidebar. If you would like to add it to your blog as well, go here.

2. Picnik is Adios, so where to now? I used Fotoflexer here and there while using Picnik (before their resignation), but Fotoflexer has stepped it up recently! I think they are taking advantage of this new Picnik change!  Good for them, which also means GOOD FOR US! They now have like a bazillion fonts! SUPER EXCITED!

3. You may have noticed my tab "Community". Click on it check it out...it's powered by Blog Frog! The idea is to help turn your blog into a Community (by the way, anyone watch the show "Community"? I love it) so you can ask me questions or we can talk about a certain subject...etc....so go check it out. You can become a member of my community too if you want to...Ooooh I know ....I know....so exciting! ha!  No but really, you should check it out and see what you think!

Cute little Gift

And.........I'm back!  My little sweetheart had surgery today, so all I could think about the past couple of days was that. It was like my brain was mush. He's fine, he had a congenital chlosteatoma.  A "Chlostea-what?" I know that is what I said.  Basically, a cyst on his ear drum that he was born with.

Anywhooo....let's get our CRAFT ON! I wanted to share this little ruffled towel I made for my great aunt in- law.  She's always making us goodies in the kitchen, so I thought she might like this little ruffled towel for her birthday.

The fun part about this towel I think is the container I made for it.  Can you guess what it is?  It's a Pringles container!  I just wrapped patterned paper around it and then added a bow.  So simple but it made quite an impact, I think.  I didn't get a picture of the lid, but it was super fun! Since the lids are see through I made a cute little "Happy Birthday" sign.  I'll make another can for you guys and then you can see the lid. How about that?!  

Ok....so the ruffled towel I just sewed straight down the middle with the straight stitch. I made it a long stitch.  Then I pulled it at an end.  After I "ruffled" it, I just sewed it on the towel.  I know there is probably a more technical way of doing this type of thing...which if you know how let me know.....but this is how I did it.  I'm not a really great sewer, but people will always ask me how I can sew and my best piece of advice is....Don't be afraid of your sewing machine...just go for it.  Remember it doesn't have to be perfect! I think that was the hardest lesson for me to learn. I wanted to worry about every stitch!  Don't ...like Nike says, "Just Do It"...I guess in this instance it's "Just Sew It"! ha!

Happy Friday...and BABY SHOWER preview

Yay! It's Friday! What is everyone doing this weekend? I think Friday is my favorite day of the week because when it's Friday, everyone seems to be happy! What is your favorite day? Plus, you have Saturday and Sunday to look forward to! Anyways, enough of that....

I just wanted to share a little piece of info with you......we're having a baby shower! No, not for ourselves, but for some wonderful friends!  So here are the invitations that went out today...

Our friends are obviously having a girl. They don't have a theme but more or less are sticking with the colors, pink and gray.  They are doing a modern themed nursey, too.  Our friend is an awesome decorator, so I'm super excited to see it when it's done. Our friend loves polka dots, so when I found these invitations I knew these were it! These invitations are from Tiny Prints you can find them here.  

I will be posting more decorations later...... my mom made the door decoration already and it is too cute for words!  Get excited! You can view more decorations my mom has done in the past here.
