Two Two Birthday Party!

My son just had his 2nd birthday!  I can't believe it!  Anyways, it was a ton of fun and here are the highlights:)

                                                    The Invitation

                                                        The Entrance

(The shadow of the tree ended up on my husband and son's face:( This is the only pic we have of all four of us from the party. Can you believe it? What a shame:(  )

The Cake Table

The cake I learned how to make on BettyCrocker.com This was the first shape cake I've ever made and it was fun and quite simple!

The cake pops were a big hit!  Everyone loved them!  They're easy to make too!  I learned on YOUTUBE.  Just go to youtube and type in cakepops.  They're so fun to make!

The Craft

The kids painted choo choo trains with their name on it.  I used my cricut machine to cut out each child's name using vinyl lettering.  Then I put their names on the trains.  The kids used sponge brushes and all different colors of paint.  They painted the choo choo and painted over their name too.  Then when the paint dried they peeled off the vinyl lettering and then their name was on the train with the wood grain showing through. It was a big hit!

The Birthday Gift: Train Table

Fun theme and best of all my son LOVED his train table!

I LOVE my Husband!

Here is my craft room that my husband built for me!  A special thanks to my father in-law and bro in-laws for helping build it! My craft room used to be in one of our upstairs bedrooms, but we needed that space for my daughter who was just born.  So my lovely husband decided to take part of our unfinished basement and turn it into my craft room!  Did I mention..I love my husband?!

Baby Girl's Nursery

You may have noticed, but I have been quite absent the past weeks.  We had spring break and then I started getting the nursery ready. By the way...tomorrow is my c-section!  It went by so quickly!

Here I am 38 weeks pregnant.    My son is 20 months (I let my husband slide on this photo op, but once baby girl comes... he'll have to suck it up;)ha!  He's a really good sport:)

Now onto the nursery!
I'm not 100% done yet.  I still need to add her name above the crib, a mirror, and bow holder, but this is how it will look for right now!

The Giraffe table was in my nursery when I was a little girl.  Then we gave it to my aunt to use in my cousin's room when she was a little girl.  My aunt painted it and brought the cute little giraffe back to life by adding a rope tail, googly eyes and pom poms on the handles.  Then she gave it to us when my cousin changed her room into a big girl room.  I'm so glad we were able to have it.  I just love it's history!

I posted earlier about this dresser, but I love it so much I want to discuss it again.  This dresser was in my parents office as an antiquey original wood dresser.  It is actually a child's dresser. The top portion is actually just a shelf that was put on the dresser to give it heighth.  My mom was nice enough to paint it for me (since I'm pregnant).  I knew I wanted it green and white, after my mom and I put our heads together we decided it would be best to just paint the door green.

We changed out the handles to white with green polka dots (we got them at Hobby Lobby by the way....which they have a huge selection of drawer pulls if your looking).  I just love how everything turned out!

Thanks for sharing my special memories with me!  I hope you got some ideas!

Renewed Nursery Dresser

My parents redid the office in their house and were getting rid of this old dresser ( I wish I had a picture of it before it was painted).  I needed one for my baby girl's nursery.  The wall color is purple and the accent color is going to be green.  So, my mom graciously painted the dresser for me since I'm pregnant.  I'm so excited at how it turned out!  I can't wait to finish the rest of the nursery!

Jungle Theme Baby Shower

What a crazy weekend!  I don't know if it's because I'm 34 weeks pregnant, chasing around a 19th month old, or both (I think they're both good excuses), but I've just recovered from the weekend!  We hosted a couples shower for our dear friends Saturday night. Then Sunday, we drove 2.5 hours to West Lafayette (Go Purdue) for my friend's baby shower.  I thought I would post some of the games, decorations and such from the shower we hosted.  The theme was a JUNGLE theme. Enjoy!

Boilermaker Bundle Baby Shower Gift

On Sunday I went to a baby shower for one of my dearest friends.  She doesn't know what she's having yet, so I decided to make a gift using the color scheme black and gold.  We met at Purdue and both our husbands went to Purdue as well so I thought it was a perfect fit!  I call this the Boilermaker Bundle!

Mini Album

I made a notebook earlier click here to see, just to get my feet wet before I dove into making a full out mini album. This mini album I made for my mother in law for her birthday.  The grandkids call her "Baba" short for Bapscia (Polish for Grandma sorry not sure on the spelling).

Birthday Card

I just got a Cuttlebug and have really been enjoying the embossing folders! Here's a birthday card I made. The cupcake is from the Celebrations cartridge and then I just used stickles glue (silver and clear).

Valentine Ladybug hair clip

So I made this little valentine ladybug hair clip for my God daughter. I mounted it on a heart (from my "extras pile" actually a heart left over from the wild card cartridge), by using a craft knife for a slit, and then I mounted it (using glue dots) on a tag I made using the Cuttlebug.

Valentine Treat Boxes

If you have Tie the Knot cricut cartridge...there are some really cute heart boxes! Perfect for Valentine's Day! I made these at 6". I used double sided paper, so when the cricut got done cutting them out, I took the little heart out of the middle of the handle, and flipped it over and glued it (using 2way glue pen) to the sides. Hope you have a great Valentine's Day!
